The sun is a vital element for our physical and emotional health. Lack of sufficient sunlight jeopardizes immunity and skeletal health, disrupting the natural sleep pattern. Various studies in this area have shown that there is a link between insufficient natural light in winter and depression. In fact, insufficient sunlight in indoor environments in modern life invites more diseases than excess sunlight.

Strengthens immunity

The sun has immune-boosting effects. Vitamin D, produced by our body in sunlight, aids white blood cells and helps cells in the respiratory tract to fight bacteria. Vitamin D also makes immune cells move towards the skin, the purpose of which is to directly fight the damage of free-radicals in the skin.

Fights depression and insomnia

Many people need more sleep and are prone to depression, especially during the winter months due to increased melatonin production. Sunlight keeps us awake by inhibiting the production of melatonin. Sunlight received during the day helps to adjust our body clock so that we can sleep well at night. Better sleep and a sunny day naturally increase energy levels.

Strengthens bones

Vitamin D provided by the sun is also necessary for bone health. It accelerates and improves the absorption of the calcium we take in our diet so that it goes to the bones.

The healing heat of sunlight penetrates deep into our skin and accelerates many restorative activities in our body, including tissue repair, hormone synthesis and nutrient absorption. You can both benefit and minimize the harmful effects of the sun by going out to the sun before 9 in the morning and after 4 in the evening.
